Heel pain can make daily life difficult but there are many ways to help with the healing and pain relief. The plantar fascia is a thick, ligament that connects your heel to the front of your foot. It acts as a shock absorber and supports the arch of your foot, helping you walk. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common orthopedic complaints, it can become damaged over time or through injury. When damage occurs it can cause tiny tears to appear in the interior of the tissue, causing it to thicken (also called plantar fasciitis). This then causes it to be painful.
You May experience the following
• Pain or discomfort when placing weight on the heel
• Heel pain to be worse after inactivity
• Avoidance of pressure on the heel
• Inflamed Heel
You will need to rest the heel to avoid further damage and allow time to heal. Paddings and correct foot ware can help in the speed of recovery.
